Architect Charles Cregar’s City Building and Market has been heralded as a masterpiece of American design since its completion in 1890. It’s unusual shape (nine times longer than it is wide), grand stone towers, and playful use of the Richardsonian Romanesque style make it a one-of-a-kind architectural landmark. Join Natalie Fritz and Kevin Rose on this virtual tour of the building, which now houses the Champion City’s local history museum. This virtual tour is free for all audiences.

Thank you Vicki Rulli, Tom Heaphey and Duo Home for an incredible effort and care poured into this special event!

Per the article below, Vicki Rulli calls Art for Wright "not just a fundraiser, but a “friendraiser,” as it brings in new people annually from Springfield and beyond, extending the reach of the Westcott House. (...) It’s our (community) jewel that brings in people from all over the world. Wright is well known and the house is a living museum and there are kids projects they do. I love its accessibility,” she said."

Join us tomorrow, October 8th at 6pm at Duo Home!

One of the year’s most unique art auctions this week will support a historic Springfield house that some consider a work of art in itself.

One of our most inspiring collaborations over the years was one with Dianne Ayres. She created textiles for the Westcott House, which helped to turn our house into a home. Beautifully crafted bedspreads and table runners are based on authentic designs from Gustav Stickley catalogs from the period when Westcotts lived in this home. Check out Dianne's PechaKucha talk, presented earlier this year in partnership with PechaKucha and Frank lloyd Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.

Expertise, artistry, and attention to detail truly matters when it comes to such a significant project!

Dianne Ayres reveals how textiles—often overlooked—play a vital role in completing Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision for the Westcott House. Drawing from Gustav Stickley’s Craftsman Workshops designs, archi

On this day in 2019, the Frederick C. Robie House was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list as part of The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was recognized for how Wright invented a new way of experiencing space, tearing down the walls between rooms so that light, air, and people could pass through. The Westcott House shares those same ideas: interior spaces flow freely from room to room, keeping loved ones connected even while moving through different parts of the home.

Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy led the 15-year effort to secure a place for Wright’s buildings on the World Heritage list, and continues to lead the work of protecting them all. The ideas about how to design and live that are embodied in Wright’s buildings must be experienced to be understood, and they must be preserved to be experienced.
