How many times have you used water today?

From brewing your morning coffee and brushing your teeth to washing dishes and everything in between, clean, reliable water plays a HUGE role in our daily lives.

But have you ever stopped to think about what it takes to get that water to your faucet?

Here in Springfield, much of our drinking water comes from groundwater beneath our community. From protecting our water supply to maintaining infrastructure and preparing for the unexpected, there's a lot that goes into making sure clean, reliable water is there when you need it.

Today is Imagine a Day Without Water, a national awareness day encouraging us to recognize the value of clean, reliable water and the systems that make it possible.

Clean Water University (CWU) is now in session! 💦 This week, 5th graders in the Eugene-Springfield area will learn all about water!

We're excited to help students learn about where their drinking water comes from, how to keep it safe, and how it reaches their home.

Each student was invited to play a game where they learned about what we don't want to end up in our drinking water (pesticides, harsh chemicals from household cleaners, and organic waste) and how to avoid it.

It's always a pleasure coming together with fellow local water providers, Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) and Rainbow Water District (RWD), to share what goes into providing drinking water across our region.

A big thank you to the City of Springfield, City of Eugene, and Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) for organizing another year of Clean Water University!

Join us for our last two days of Customer Appreciation Week here at SUB! Our baristas will be out at Splash! at Lively Park in Thurston from 8 am - 1 pm on Friday and Saturday (Oct 9-10).

Pro tip: Join the drive-thru line BEFORE 12:45 pm to ensure you can grab a drink before closing time. The line will close early if needed to allow our amazing baristas to leave on time so they can rest up for the next day.

Our Customer Appreciation Week falls during Public Power Week as well. It's a great time to learn about publicly owned utilities and how involved they are in their communities, just like SUB! SUB is a publicly owned by YOU!

Public power employees do more than provide electricity. They are neighbors, volunteers, community partners, and public servants invested in the places they call home.

Across the country, public power utilities support schools, charitable organizations, energy-assistance initiatives, educational programs, and civic events. These partnerships reflect a defining principle of public power: Service to the community extends beyond poles, wires, and substations.

Stop by the Bob Keefer Center today for Customer Appreciation Week and grab a free drink! You never know who you'll run into! (Jimothy sighting not guaranteed)

Our baristas will be here from 8 am - 1 pm handing out free drinks to YOU! Pro tip: Make sure you're in the drive thru line BEFORE 12:45 pm, as we will close the line early if the wait will go past 1 pm. Our baristas show up bright and early to make drinks for us all day, so we like to make sure they go home on time to get rest for the next day!

Tomorrow we'll switch locations for the last stop of our coffee tour and set up at Splash! at Lively Park for Friday and Saturday.

This is our favorite week of the year and we love being able to share it with you.

Our Customer Appreciation Week is off to a great start! We love seeing familiar faces year after year and sharing the photos you send in! (That's Gail with her cute pup!).

Customer Appreciation Week is also our Employee Appreciation Week, so if you see lines of our crew trucks at the event, that's why! We have to make sure our crews have all the caffeine they need to keep the rest of the city powered up.

We'll be at Bob Keefer Center today until 1 pm and then again tomorrow from 8 am - 1 pm.

Pro tip: Get in the drive thru line BEFORE 12:45 pm to make sure you get your drinks! If the line is too long we will close it early to make sure our amazing baristas can leave promptly at 1 pm. They arrive very early to setup and get ready to hand out free drinks to as many people as possible, so we like to send them home on time so they're able to rest up for the next day!

Drink limit of 2 drinks per person, or 6 drinks per vehicle max. Thanks for helping us ensure we have enough drinks for everyone who wants to stop by!

You can, in fact, get TWO free drinks from SUB at any of our Customer Appreciation Week locations. We won't tell anyone if you keep them both for yourself either.

Join us today and tomorrow (Weds + Thurs) at Bob Keefer Center at 250 S 32nd St in Springfield. We'll be here from 8 am - 1 pm.

Helpful tip: Arrive before 12:45 pm, as the drive-thru line will close early if needed to allow our Baristas to leave promptly at 1 pm. They arrive very early to set up their truck and work through the entire shift handing out free drinks to our wonderful customers!

Drinks are limited to 2 person or 6 per vehicle max so that everyone who stops by can enjoy a free treat from SUB.

Join us for a FREE coffee or cocoa today at our Annex building on A street! From 8 am - 1 pm Most Wanted Espresso will be handing out free drinks for SUB customers. Make sure you stop by and grab a drink for yourself and a friend.
