A historic neighborhood of houses built between 1850-1920 It is a sanctuary of beauty, community, and preservation.

Since the 1880s, the glorious homes of Springfield, Ohio's South Fountain Historic Neighborhood have stood testament to an era of remarkable residential architecture and lavish living. Today, this distinctive and charming neighborhood is in the midst of revitalization and is one of the city's most exceptional places to live. With a welcoming and diverse group of neighbors, houses that brim with character and a rich tradition of social consciousness, South Fountain offers more than just a place to live.

Today is the day! The 2026 South Fountain Tour of Homes is here!

The tour runs today from 1 to 6 PM. Start your afternoon at First Baptist Church, 638 S. Fountain Avenue, where you can purchase your day-of-tour ticket for $20 or trade in your pre-sale ticket for your Tour Booklet with everything you need to make your way through the neighborhood.

Once you’re out and exploring, look for the South Fountain Tour of Homes banners marking each participating home.

We’re excited to open the doors to our neighborhood and share the beautiful homes, history, and stories that make South Fountain so special.

Check out the Historic Gammon House Underground Railroad Historic Landmark during the tour tomorrow, South Fountain is honored to have an important piece of American history right in our own backyard.

The George and Sarah Gammon House at 620 Piqua Place is a rare home on the Underground Railroad built and owned by free people of color. The house is a powerful reminder of the courage of those who sought freedom and those who risked their own safety to help them along the way.

As we celebrate the beautiful homes and architecture of the South Fountain neighborhood, we also celebrate the history that lives here. Places like the Gammon House remind us that historic preservation is about more than preserving buildings. It is about preserving the stories of the people who came before us and ensuring they are shared with generations to come.

We are proud to feature the Gammon House as part of the 2026 South Fountain Tour of Homes this Sunday, September 20, from 1 to 6 PM in Springfield, Ohio.
