As we prepare for renovations to the former Effingham County Administration Building, which will soon become the future Springfield City Hall, some much-needed preventative tree maintenance is underway on the property.

Several of the mature trees surrounding the building have gone years without significant maintenance. Crews are now addressing overgrown, dead, and potentially hazardous limbs to help protect the trees, the building, and everyone who will use the property in the years ahead.

This work is an important first step as we begin preparing the site for its transformation into a welcoming, functional Springfield City Hall while respecting the character and beauty of the live oak trees.

We’re excited to see this property enter its next chapter and look forward to sharing more updates as renovations begin!
