This morning, staff gathered at the Greene County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Memorial, where Chaplain Walker and Sheriff Johnson offered words of remembrance in honor of Deputy Gary McCormack’s enduring legacy. The moment was observed with a solemn silence and a time of prayer, reflecting our deep gratitude and respect.

When we say we must preserve the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we mean it. We remain steadfast in honoring them, supporting their survivors, and upholding this profession by carrying their legacy with the dignity it deserves.

New look, same services at the Greene County, Missouri Judicial Courts Facility. Our deputies working in campus security are still in place to ensure safety for the many Greene County offices located at the downtown offices.

Entry to these facilities looks different, but is positioned so that there is only need for one security/entry point for visitors. This design ensures efficiency for all.

Once you pass through the security checkpoint, follow signage to your desired office or courtroom. See the original post for additional information.

🚨 MOTORCYCLE & HAZARDOUS MOTORIST SAFETY OPERATION 🚨

Sport‑bike riders racing at extreme speeds, weaving through traffic, doing wheelies, and operating without plates have created serious hazards on our roads.

To address this, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol carried out a proactive enforcement operation across Springfield and Greene County this past weekend. With patrol units and an MSHP aircraft, deputies and troopers focused on hazardous violations, equipment and safety issues, and missing tags; all aimed at improving roadway safety for everyone.

During this event the GCSO had:

154 total traffic stops.
2 DWI/Minor in possession.
2 Vehicles towed.
7 total arrests.

This coordinated effort was made possible through Missouri Department of Transportation roadway safety funds, supporting targeted operations that help reduce crashes and keep Missouri roads safe.

"Our goal is fewer crashes and safer roads for everyone. Thank you for doing your part by riding and driving responsibly." - Sheriff Jason Johnson
