Last night I called Denny Hoskins to concede the election and congratulate him on a hard fought primary victory. He ran a great campaign and has earned the nomination to be our Republican candidate for Secretary of State this November. Now, it is critical that we all come together to support Denny and every other Republican candidate who won yesterday. Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work helping them as we head towards the November election.
I want to thank everyone who supported me in this campaign. The time and resources you gave to help were nothing short of incredible, and my family and I will forever be grateful. Thank you!
I especially want to thank my family. I am blessed to be married to Mendie, and we are blessed beyond measure by Emma, Dorthy, and Johnny. They all gave so much in all they did to help me as I campaigned. I am truly thankful for them and the blessing they are to me and all who know them.
Although yesterday was not the outcome we hoped for, it is an outcome I accept as I yield myself to the Lord’s will and timing, knowing that He knows what is best. I was reminded during the day yesterday of Proverbs 3: 5-6 which says this:
⁵ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. ⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
God is sovereign, even in the outcomes we don't want. I will place my trust in Him and Him alone. He is always good and his timing is always perfect!
