What would Tennessee look like without water?

It's a question most of us never have to ask - but it's one worth thinking about.

Gov. Bill Lee has proclaimed October 15, 2026, as "Imagine a Day Without Water" Day in Tennessee, recognizing the essential role water infrastructure plays in our health, economy, environment, and everyday lives.

Today, we're kicking off a week-long countdown to Imagine a Day Without Water which is a national campaign followed by many states and organizations. Between now and October 15, we'll share stories about the people, places, and infrastructure that keep clean water flowing across Tennessee, and why protecting water infrastructure matters to every Tennessean.
