Faces of 5439: This week’s Faces of 5439 features Captain Francesco Boccia!
Fire Captain Francesco Boccia joined Springville Fire as a lateral Fire Captain in March of this year. He is excited to begin this new chapter of his career.
About Me:
I was born in Kansas and grew up in Northern New Mexico. I also lived in California for 15 years before moving to Southern Oregon in 2018. I served in the military as a Combat Medic, including a deployment to Iraq in 2008. I moved to the area a few months ago with my wife Lacey, our 4-year-old son Declan, our dog Bodie, and cat Deuce. I enjoy spending time with them and watching my son grow up, as well as weight lifting, outdoor fun, music, and pro/college sports. GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY!
Why did you become a firefighter?
I have wanted to work in fire and EMS since I was in pull-ups. It was always the goal all along.
Why do you like working in Springville?
Moving to Utah has been such a great experience for my family. I love being a part of building and growing this department. I enjoy working to provide the best possible customer service to the community we serve.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I love serving the community and helping people in their biggest times of need. I love sharing my knowledge and experience with my crew and helping them grow and be successful. I have a great crew that makes coming to work that much more enjoyable.
How many years in the fire service do you have?
I worked 15 years for CAL FIRE, working my way up from Firefighter to Captain. I have been in a Company Officer role for 9 1/2 years, including almost 6 years as a Captain.
I am very excited to be a part of the growth of Springville and have appreciated the warm welcome my family and I have received. If you see me out and about, feel free to say hello!
