For seven weeks, Mrs. Brockbank, a Beverly Taylor Sorenson (BTS) Arts Music Integration Coach, has teamed up with Meadow B rook teachers to bring music into math, spelling, reading, and more! From singing spelling words and doing math on the beat to using scarves and instruments to make learning stick, teachers are gaining fun techniques they can keep using long after she leaves.

Mrs. Brockbank has also been playing morning piano and taking song requests! 🎹

Ask your child what they've been singing, playing, or moving to!

💙 Next term, Mrs. Brockbank will head to a new school, and she'll miss Meadow Brook! If you see her pop in or around town, be sure to wave and say, "Hiiiiii, Mrs. Brockbank!" 👋🎶

Ms. Fullmer’s afternoon class found a whole new rhythm for math today! With some help from our amazing music coach, Mrs. Brockbank, students used musical instruments to practice decimal place values.

They played decimal numbers in expanded form right on the beat, using a different instrument to represent each place value—from tenths to thousandths!

Who knew place value could sound this good? Hands-on learning hits all the right notes!

One of our 8 C’s we are focusing on this month is CHOICE! ✨

In second grade, we are learning that we get to make choices every day and our choices have an impact! We’ve been talking about what it means to make good choices at school, whether that’s choosing to be kind, choosing to be a good friend, choosing to work hard, or choosing to do the right thing even when it’s not always the easiest choice.

We are practicing stopping, thinking, and asking ourselves: “Is this a good choice?”

We are so proud of the thoughtful choices our students are making each day!

📚 BOOK HAUL ALERT! 📚

Our 5th graders just scored BIG! Thanks to some seriously generous friends — our amazing PTA, Western State Mechanical, and the Nebo Foundation — we now have plenty of copies of the Battle of the Books titles. No more fighting over who gets the book next! 😄

Now the real fun begins: our readers are ready to dive in, devour those stories, and become Battle of the Books experts. More books read = more bragging rights! 🏆📖

Chalk the Block fun!

We had SO much fun on Friday with our own Chalk the Block at school! 🎨🩷 After the original fundraiser had to be canceled because of the weather, our amazing PTA helped us pivot and made sure the fun could still happen! They provided chalk for every class and a prize pouch for every single student in our school. 🥰

We are so grateful for the BEST PTA and all they do to create such fun experiences for our students! The kids and teachers had a blast, and we couldn’t be more thankful! ❤️💛💙
