We read, we sang, we danced- thanks to yesterday’s visit with author and illustrator Stephen Shaskan! K-2 students heard about his awesome career, his writing process, and how he became a reader himself! He even played his electric ukulele and we learned the Pizza and Taco best friends song! Ask your reader to teach you and song and dance 🍕🌮
Thank you to The Novel Neighbor for bringing us this amazing event and for all the books that we ordered- students are devouring them!

It’s been a whirlwind few days of literacy, libraries, and lots of book JOY! Sappington Elementary had the honor of hosting author Chris Grabenstein on Thursday! 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders heard about his new book “Ms. Pennypickle's Puzzle Quest”- and even created a story with him! Thank you to The Novel Neighbor for this amazing and hilarious visit.

Mrs. Dolan then traveled to the American Association of School Librarians hosted in St. Louis- where many more authors and stories were shared! Our Lindbergh Library department presented about the power of collaboration across our schools. We discussed how working together, sharing resources, ideas, and strategies, helps all our district's students succeed and makes every library stronger. 📚
