At approximately 19:30 hours on June 13th, St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a smoke investigation on Highway 225 south of Batoche, near the river in the R.M. of St. Louis. Dispatch contacted the Fire Chief after 911 received a report of smoke showing from an unknown cause. Due to the remote location and distance from the hall, the Fire Chief requested a full department response.

The Deputy Fire Chief arrived on scene and located a burning SUV near the river, with a minor fire spreading into nearby brush. Engine, Tanker, and Unit #4 responded; Unit #4 accessed the scene via a narrow road that Engine and Tanker could not safely travel.

One Arrow Fire Department was already on scene and was working on the brush fire. St. Louis Fire Department members assisted in extinguishing the vehicle fire and remaining hot spots in the surrounding area.

Once all fire was fully extinguished, members ensured the scene was safe, packed up equipment, and returned to the hall to ready for future service.

RCMP were on scene and are investigating.

At 11:07 am St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to C.O. alarms ringing in the Village of St. Louis. 2 Members arrived and determined that the alarm was faulty and advised the homeowner.

Bush Fire – Highway 782 (North of St. Laurent Ferry) R.M. of St. Louis.
May 26, 2026

At approximately 4:16 p.m., the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a reported bush fire located roughly 2 miles north of the St. Laurent Ferry on Highway 782.

Upon arrival, firefighters identified a residential structure on the property and immediately prioritized exposure protection. 8 firefighters worked to contain the fire, establish a safe perimeter, and prevent encroachment toward the home. Although strong winds were present, conditions remained favorable as the wind direction pushed the fire west toward the river, reducing the threat to the residence.

Crews successfully suppressed the fire and secured the surrounding area. The scene was cleared at 9:26 p.m., at which time the property owner assumed responsibility for monitoring remaining hotspots.

Location: R.M. of St. Louis – Northwest of Bellevue
Incident Type: Single Vehicle Rollover

Narrative:
At approximately 18:29 hours on May 23rd, the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a single vehicle rollover located in the Rural Municipality of St. Louis, northwest of Bellevue.

The Lieutenant arrived on scene first from the F.D. alongside RCMP members. A single pickup truck was found overturned. Three occupants—two males and one female—had self-extricated from the vehicle prior to arrival. All three individuals were assessed as having various injuries.

STARS Air Ambulance was initially inbound. EMS arrived shortly thereafter, conducted patient assessments, and determined that STARS was not required. STARS, already near the scene, landed to assist with further assessment before departing once EMS confirmed patient transport by ground ambulance. All patients were transported to hospital for further care.

RCMP remained on scene and are conducting the investigation into the cause of the rollover.

Fire Department members secured the vehicle for towing, mitigated hazards, and cleared debris from the roadway. Once the scene was safe and all tasks were completed, members returned to the hall and restored equipment to service.

Location: Highway 11 near Red Deer Hill Road, R.M. of Prince Albert
Incident Type: Vehicle in Water / Traffic Hazard

At approximately 09:19 hours on May 11th, the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle located in the slough along Highway 11 within the Rural Municipality of Prince Albert.

The Fire Chief arrived on scene and conducted an immediate assessment. A single vehicle was found partially submerged in the slough. No occupants were located inside the vehicle or anywhere in the surrounding area. A search of the immediate scene confirmed no visible signs of injury or persons requiring assistance.

While additional responding members were en route, they were stood down based on the assessment and lack of occupants.

The Fire Chief remained on scene to provide traffic control and ensure safety during vehicle recovery operations. Once towing personnel completed the removal of the vehicle, the Fire Chief cleared the scene.

Location: R.M. of Prince Albert
Incident Type: Single Motor Vehicle Collision (No Entrapment)

St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a single‑vehicle collision with no entrapment. The Fire Chief arrived first and located three individuals—two males and one female—standing on the roadside with minor visible injuries. All three reported being cold after walking through water, as the vehicle had come to rest in a flooded off‑road area.

The Fire Chief brought the individuals into his vehicle to warm them while awaiting EMS. They reported that a fourth occupant, a female, had begun walking north toward Prince Albert. Unit #4 and Engine arrived shortly after; Unit #4 proceeded to locate the fourth individual, who was found but refused assistance.

EMS transported the three individuals to the hospital in Prince Albert for further evaluation. RCMP arrived on scene and assumed investigative responsibility. Fire Department members were released and returned to the hall, restoring equipment for future service.
