At this year's Walk to Cure Arthritis we planned to use pinwheels to represent our connection to arthritis and a symbol for our community in motion. Since we didn't get to do this in person, I'd like to take a moment to share our pinwheels!

Green: represented by Steven Rowland our adult honoree

Steven Rowland has lived with the challenges of axial spondyloarthritis and understands firsthand the physical and emotional impact arthritis can have on daily life. As a fantasy author, he uses storytelling to bring awareness to chronic pain and invisible illness, inspired by his own journey. Through storytelling and
advocacy, Steven hopes to help others feel seen, understood, and less alone while raising awareness for the arthritis community.

For those of you that are carrying an invisible green pinwheel, this community stands with you! Drop a green heart in the comments to recognize those living with arthritis πŸ’šπŸ’š

Our Walk to Cure Arthritis may not have gone exactly as planned, but your impact was still incredible. Because of your fundraising efforts and generosity we were able to raise $56,000 and counting to support research, resources, and programs for those living with arthritis.

This event- like all others- underscored how amazing our volunteers are! Our committee members start meeting in January and have been making calls, securing sponsors and donations, finding volunteers, and dreaming up the event experience for all of you. On top of that, we had a large group give up their Friday evening to set up for the event. That same group and more showed up in the rain bright and early Saturday to finish the setup and jumped quickly to tear down.

We couldn't have done this without you. Your passion for this cause and willingness to help truly means so much! πŸ’š

Last weekend, our 25th anniversary Walk to Cure Arthritis was a huge success! While the event was sadly canceled due to weather, this community still came together to celebrate the 'village' that it takes to manage chronic disease. We could not do it without the help of every single team, volunteer, sponsor, and fundraiser - thank you from the bottom of our green hearts πŸ’šπŸ’š
