STARTING TONIGHT METRO OFFERING NIGHTLY PICKUPS IN THE VILLE
Beginning tonight, Metro Transit will be picking up residents in The Ville at the Save A Lot on Natural Bridge. The first pickup is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
Buses will take riders to the 12th and Park Rec Center where they can shower, rest, and get support. Red Cross volunteers will be there to help with the process.
In the morning, buses will bring everyone back to the Save A Lot. This service will run every night this week. While shelter locations may change, the Red Cross will update and share the new information daily.

As Labor Day approaches, we honor the hardworking individuals who have built and continue to build the fabric of our nation. This day is a tribute to the strength, resilience, and contributions of workers from all walks of life. But as we celebrate, let's also take a moment to reflect on those who face the harsh reality of homelessness—a reality where the opportunity to work and thrive is often out of reach.
For many, the challenges of securing stable employment are compounded by the lack of a safe and secure place to call home. Homelessness isn't just a matter of housing; it's a complex issue tied to mental health, access to education, and the availability of good jobs. This Labor Day, let's remember that everyone deserves the dignity of work and the security of a home.
💡 What can we do? 💡
Support local shelters and organizations that provide job training and placement services.
Advocate for affordable housing and policies that address the root causes of homelessness.
Extend a helping hand to those in need, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply raising awareness.
Together, we can ensure that the promise of Labor Day—a day to celebrate the fruits of hard work—can be a reality for all, including those without a home.
Let’s work towards a future where no one is left behind. 🏠💼
