CLOSER, a program of live auditory performances by SLAM staff
Friday, November 18, 2022 | 6–8 pm CST
Hear live interpretations performed by SLAM staff members inspired by artworks in the Museum’s collection. The auditory performances will include performance art, vocal, instrumental, soundscape, and spoken word. CLOSER aims to provide inclusive access to art, and the program was developed by SLAM staff in partnership with MindsEye, a St. Louis-area nonprofit organization that serves individuals who are blind or partially sighted by helping to eliminate barriers to participation in the arts and culture community.

Audio-description services will be provided for this event. A brief reception will follow this event in the auditorium lobby.

CLOSER was developed by the Museum’s Staff Programming Opportunity Team, a new initiative created to encourage staff input and promote diverse thinking with fresh perspectives using cross-departmental collaboration.
