Today, I joined hubby in the backyard and alley! It will count toward our effort. We filled an entire green ally dumpster!
This private program is geared to meet the unmet needs of children, adults, and families in need of services possibly not offered by other not-for-profits.

This little sunset reminded me how healing it is to create something with your own hands.
Blending colors…slowing down…letting the moment be enough.
Life works the same way.
We don’t always get the perfect lines or the smoothest shading, but when we step back, we can still see beauty in the process. Here’s to making space for creativity, calm, and small joys.
Until next time...

Watching Hubby harvest these tomatoes made me think about how much tending goes unseen.
The early mornings. The checking. The pruning. The patience.
Harvest is just the visible part of the story. Life is the same way.
We don’t always get applause for the work we do behind the scenes — the healing, the learning, the unlearning, the showing up. But the fruit always tells the truth.
May we keep tending to what matters.
Until next time...

Last night’s conversation touched on adult tantrums. It reminded me why this Wheel of Emotions hangs on my wall. We need language and awareness to understand what we’re really feeling — and that understanding changes everything.
Today, I’m clear:
I am happy.
I am optimistic.
I am inspired.
Until next time...

This school year brought so many new and “new‑as‑an‑adult” experiences — including finally making it to the Arch!
Even though I’m not always present on social media, I’m absolutely still doing the work.
As of Saturday, we’ve officially wrapped for the school year. Now it’s all about tying up loose ends and preparing for June and July sessions.
I’ll be teaching, supporting, and mentoring all summer long — a tight schedule with small pockets where I get to be a “lady who lunches.”
Until next time…keep growing.

Samantha Minor you are appreciated!

Thank you, , for featuring me — and thank you, Darron Collins-Bey, for the nomination. I’m grateful for the work we’re doing here. I shared the article with my mentees today and have already passed it along to many of my parents.
The work continues.
This evening, my mentee and I focused on rising‑grade expectations. We introduced the irregular verb BE (am, is, are, was, were). We practiced alphabetizing words with the same first letter and used that strategy to navigate the dictionary. And before we wrapped up, we added two three‑digit numbers.
In another session, we moved from an equation to standard form ax^2 + bx + c = 0, applied the quadratic formula, and arrived at the correct solution.
And on the community side, I serve as KingsVille’s vice‑president — work that, like mentoring, is ongoing. In last night’s meeting, we elevated Citizen Service Bureau Requests, Voting Culture, ZOUP (ZOning UPgrades), and more.
I’m humbled and grateful for this opportunity. I hope you enjoy the interview.

P.S.A. Pom Pom Event 🌈✨
APRIL SHOWERS Edition
What an incredible event! We created the cutest April Showers pom poms and had such a beautiful time together. More pictures to come...
Huge shout‑out to everyone who made today possible — and THANK YOU to every neighbor, nearby neighbor, and resident who joined us. Your presence is what makes KingsVille P.S.A. so special.
A special thank‑you to North Side Community School for giving us the space and place to host this gathering.
And an extra special shout‑out to my hubby, Tyrone Johnson who completes every task right alongside me — from test runs, to making kits, to setting up the event, to setting the tone with that smooth jazzy jazz and his V2MMG skills and talents. Couldn’t do this work without him.
Here are a couple of quotes from today’s attendees:
💚 “I’m so grateful for today’s activity and community gathering. You are such a blessing to our community.” — Rolanda C
💚 “Thank you so much for this much‑needed event. The jazz, art, and fellowship were extraordinary. Just what I needed to set the pace for the rest of my day. Looking forward to the next event.” — Tabb
Community, creativity, and connection — that’s KingsVille.
Until next time...KEEP CONNECTING!

✍🏾✨ Cursive, Note‑Taking, Math Forms & a Whole Lot of Learning
Today, I decided to write our morning message in cursive for the very first time — and they read it with confidence.
A few of the words turned out to be prepositions, so we turned that into a teachable moment and kept the learning going.
From there, we dove into Notetaking 101:
• writing the word
• identifying the part of speech
• defining it
• and practicing the word again in cursive
We also shifted into math and worked through standard form, expanded form, and word form. I’m even sending a picture to another mentee because the number we used is his favorite.
To wrap up the day, we played a quick science and social studies game — full of energy, teamwork, and lots of correct answers.
Overall, today was a great day of learning, curiosity, and connection.
Until next time...KEEP GROWING!
