This team allows young people to shape their neighborhoods' future and lets their voices be heard by working alongside planning professionals, City staff, nonprofits, local businesses, community leaders, and others during the planning process.
Participants will discuss topics such as housing, parks, safety, and transportation while gaining experience in urban planning, civic engagement, and developing leadership skills. We are also exploring options for volunteer hours, leadership experience, or school credit through local partnerships with schools and other organizations.
The Youth Planning Team is open to individuals primarily aged 15–21 who live in, attend school in, or care about Benton Park West, Gravois Park, Dutchtown, Marine Villa, and Mount Pleasant. There will be six coordinated meetings during the planning period (July 2026 - December 2027) and opportunities to attend all of PlanSTL's events.
Please share the attached flyer/ information with any interested students or groups. Applications are due by June 30, 2026.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback. I hope everyone enjoys their day!
