Did you know that ice cream cartons CAN’T be recycled? The thin plastic lining, which helps to prevent freezer burn, is very difficult to separate from the cardboard outside, meaning ice cream cartons need to be disposed of in the trash.
Learn how to dispose of other items properly with Recycle Coach! Simply type or take a picture of your item using the “What Goes Where?” feature, and Recycle Coach will tell you where to take it to be disposed of.
To download Recycle Coach for FREE or use the online version on our website, visit stlcityrecycles.com/

Do you know how to recycle plastic bags & film?
Plastic bags & film should NOT be put in city recycling.
To properly dispose of plastic bags & film, take them to participating retail stores. Many have special plastic film collection bins near the entrance.
