GB WEEK DAY 3: We are highlighting our Community Partners today! We want to give a big THANK YOU to LifeWise STL! has gone above and beyond this year taking the time to educate brigaders and general body members on the socioeconomic diversity in our own St. Louis region. Through their guidance we have reinforced the importance of volunteering locally as well as abroad. Also, a big THANK YOU to the SLU 1818 Community Engagement Grant Program that has provided us with funds to make our Local Initiatives possible. GB WEEK DAY 3: Today we are focusing our GB Partners for Change! In particular we want to highlight the work of our community leaders in-country. As we have recently sent many medical brigades, we continue to support the training of CHWs (community health workers) in-country. In 2019, GB trained 477 CHWs!!! CHWs’ leadership is essential to the sustainability of healthcare while communities are in between brigades, by providing basic medical care, monitoring chronic conditions, and more!! GB water councils are another great representation of our sustainable efforts. The Engineering Brigade we sent in 2019 to Honduras worked closely with the water council of El Guayucán to design a new water system to meet the communities needs. We made sure their voices were a major contributor in the planning process, as they will be the ones maintaining the system once it is constructed! 💙🌎Share this post to your own page or story to show some love for our community leaders and to gain SLU a point for GB Week with the following hashtags:

GB WEEK DAY 2: We had a great time chatting with brigaders and learning more about everyone’s ! We love the words everyone used to encompass GB: adventure, holistic, solidarity and AWESOME!
