As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we're looking back at the many ways Ritenour students, staff and families celebrated Hispanic culture, traditions and history from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15!
Schools across the district brought the celebration to life through music, dancing, art, food and special activities.
Buder Elementary third-graders are preparing a special musical performance featuring cultural songs and dances.
Kratz Elementary celebrated with spirit weeks highlighting Latin American countries, music and children's books.
Iveland Elementary welcomed families for an evening of crafts, games and cultural learning.
Marion Elementary brought families together for dancing, singing, crafts and games.
Marvin Elementary highlighted famous Hispanic Americans, enjoyed a staff luncheon featuring traditional foods and hosted a family Lotería night.
Wyland Elementary celebrated with a themed spirit week and is preparing a special cultural assembly featuring student performances and professional dancers.
Hoech Middle School students created posters showcasing countries and cultures throughout Latin America and Spain.
Ritenour Middle School students shared their cultural backgrounds, family traditions and the meaning behind their home countries' flags.
Ritenour High School multilingual learners celebrated with food, music, games and a cultural mural. Seniors also received their graduation stoles.
Hahn Center for International Learners hosted Herencia Latina, a family celebration featuring traditional foods, games and Mexican dancers.
Husky Academy students have been inspired this month by Ritenour High School graduates, Rebekah Jimenez and Tony Garcia, who shared their personal stories about overcoming obstacles and recognizing personal strengths to experience success.
