Help our neighborhood shine!
Tomorrow, Saturday June 6th at 9am, come and join the LPNA Green Team as we pick up trash along I-44W. We meet at the I-44E exit at Jamieson (opposite Circle K).
We will provide safety vests, picker-uppers/stabbers and trash bags. Bring gloves! I cannot stress that enough! Bring gloves! We pick up trash on the south side of I-44 W from the highway to the fence line about half a mile west. It usually takes us 1 - 1 1/2 hours, so even if you could spare half an hour to help, we’d appreciate that.
This exit is an entrance to our neighborhood and trash has a way of flying off trucks and collecting against the fence line and by the side of the road. A neighborhood that ignores trash, or people who thinking “someone”should take care of that open the doors to neglect and possible crime. Don’t be that person. You are “someone”!
See you at 9am tomorrow!

📏⚖️ This week, our 4th and 5th-grade students learned how scientists use the International System of Units (SI) to measure matter. Through hands-on activities, they measured length in centimeters (cm), mass in grams (g), and volume in milliliters (mL) using rulers, digital scales, and graduated cylinders. Students strengthened their scientific measurement and data analysis skills while working like real scientists!

🌎🍪 This week, our 4th and 5th grade students explored plate tectonics through a fun Edible Plate Tectonics Lab! Using graham crackers, Fruit Roll-Ups, and frosting, they modeled how Earth's plates move and create features such as mountains, ridges, trenches, and faults. Hands-on learning makes science come alive!

Here are 7 evidence-based signs your child is truly happy:
A truly happy child is not defined by constant smiling, but by healthy emotional balance and everyday behaviors that reflect inner well-being. According to child psychiatry insights, happiness shows up in patterns like emotional resilience, stable routines, and healthy social development rather than surface-level expressions of joy.
The seven key signs include: frequent smiles and laughter in daily life (not constant, but natural joy), positive self-esteem and willingness to try new things, consistent and healthy sleep patterns, normal appetite and body awareness, enjoyment of social interaction and friendships, prioritizing real-world (in-person) connection over isolation, and the ability to recover from setbacks without staying emotionally stuck.
Together, these signs show that a child is emotionally secure and developing strong coping skills. Importantly, happy children still feel sadness, anger, and frustration—but they process these emotions in healthy ways and return to balance. True happiness in childhood is not about perfection or constant positivity, but about resilience, connection, and stable emotional development over time."
