Remembering Tim Totten
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Tim Totten on May 11, 2026.
Tim was a Master Storyteller and world-renowned expert on Frank Lloyd Wright — and if you ever heard him speak, you know exactly what that means. He didn’t lecture. He lit up a room. With hundreds of photographs and decades of deep knowledge, Tim wove Wright’s extraordinary life — the genius, the scandal, the heartbreak, the triumph — into something you felt long after you left your seat.
We were lucky to have him in St. Louis. His energy and passion for Wright were completely contagious, and he had a rare gift for making architecture feel like the most compelling story ever told — because in his hands, it was.
He will be missed by this community and by the many thousands whose love of Frank Lloyd Wright was deepened by an evening with Tim.

The house recently completed a major roof restoration that returned the home to Wright’s original 1951 design. The project replaced the asphalt shingles with cedar, restored the fascia and chimney masonry, upgraded the flat roof membrane, and added custom skylights, all led by Harboe Architects with McMillan Construction Group.
Tours are now available, and advance tickets are required. Reserve your visit here: https://ebsworthpark.org/visit/

It’s such a privilege to know these two remarkable building stewards — Jeffrey Herr and Aaron Fowlkes. This photo was taken at the annual Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy’s annual conference where Aaron and his project team received a Wright Spirit Award.
I’m so proud Aaron will be in St. Louis next weekend for the Joanne and Alan Kohn Lecture to share the story behind Givenchy’s rehabilitation of the Anderton Court Shops on Rodeo Drive — one of Wright’s most iconic commercial works.
A limited number of tickets remain. This is a FREE event, but tickets are required. Reserve at the Museum’s Information Centers or at metrotix.com. https://www.slam.org/event/givenchy-rehabilitation-frank-lloyd-wright-shops/
Aaron is a charismatic speaker who will take you on a fascinating journey recounting a unique and important rehabilitation project. You will not want to miss this event!
