Dear Families, Participants, and Coworkers,
On behalf of Carolyn and myself I would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love we have received from all of you since learning that we had resigned from our positions at EverLove. This was the hardest decision either one of us has ever made and we did not make it lightly. To have so many kind words bestowed upon us means more than we can say.
While I am excited about what the future may hold I would be lying if I didn’t admit that there is some sadness at what we are leaving behind. You guys sure are a tough act to follow! I have spent two weeks trying to articulate what I want to say but find that it is incredibly difficult to adequately sum up 15 years of memories (10 years for Carolyn). We have laughed, sang a lot of karaoke (often times off key), and cried together through some really tough losses. From the crafts and parties to surviving a pandemic, we have been through it all.
I have spent also spent these days thinking about all the participants I have met throughout my tenure here at EverLove. And like that quote from It’s a Wonderful Life says, “Each man’s life touches so many other lives”. It was truly amazing to realize how many lives we had the absolute privilege to be a part of. How many stories.
I realize Change can be incredibly hard but I also know that we are leaving you in the best hands possible. Jenny and the rest of the staff are going to continue to support you and services will remain intact and running as usual.
On a final note before I hand this page over;
To our Families: It was an HONOR taking care of your loved ones. I hope we always made it known how much we appreciated your love and support throughout the years.
To our participants: Though we are leaving you in good hands, we are sure going to miss you. YOU are the very best part of EverLove and always remember, “Everything will be alright as long as you keep dancing like you’re 22” (The Swiftie girlies will get it).
To Jenny and our Coworkers: You are some of the best caregivers we have ever had the pleasure to work with the largest hearts. Hope you never change. We know you will continue to take care of the participants with the same dedication and compassion EverLove is known for.
To Steve, Nancy, and the entire Benz Family: Thank you for taking a chance on us all those years ago. EverLove is truly a wonderful place to be and we are proud that we got to be a part of it.
