A full room, great energy, and an important milestone for residents at Baywood meeting LumaLink last night.
We officially kicked off our partnership with the community, and the response from residents made it clear why this work matters. When older adults can access trustworthy, local support through a simple interaction, it changes how they navigate their day—and how connected they feel to the place they call home.
A huge acknowledgment to Emilia Bourland for her leadership in bringing the event together. Her coordination, preparation, and ability to create a welcoming environment set the tone for the entire evening.
Grateful as well for Nixie and the Baywood operator team with . Also, Paul McDonald and the owner team at Resolution Companies. Their commitment to resident experience shows up in the way they support new ideas and make room for innovation.
And thank you to the residents who showed up, engaged deeply, and helped us shape what comes next.
Last night was a strong start—and just the beginning of what we’ll build together.

Some of my most cherished memories with my Grandpa Don are the napkin maps he’d draw for me.
A pen, a napkin, and a little guidance—enough to help me find my way.
This is the last one he made for me before he passed.

I recently faced a dilemma with my favorite Melin hat, a thoughtful gift from my family. Despite my love for these hats, dealing with sweat stains has been a challenge. I feared ruining another hat due to the scorching heat dome weather we’re experiencing.
Fortunately, an article on caring for Melin hats crossed my path, emphasizing the importance of gentle care. Instead of aggressive methods, soaking in Oxiclean proved to be the key.
This experience parallels our current challenges at LumaLink. While some analytics may suggest drastic measures, I’ve learned that deliberate, nuanced solutions often yield steady improvements without the need for drastic changes.
