We are excited to announce that we have issued over 1,000 Gateway IDs! This new, municipal ID program launched earlier this year and we're happy to serve those who are using this ID to overcome barriers or simply using the ID to enjoy more of their city while showing their civic pride. Thank you to all our team members and associates who help stand up this program as well as all our partners who have joined us to provide discounts and other incentives. If you or someone you know could use a free, municipal ID, come down to City Hall Room 220 or call us for more information at 314-366-3100 today!

🎀 October is here!

October is filled with special awareness and observance months, and we’re kicking off the month by honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Today, we celebrate every breast cancer survivor and honor the strength and resilience of those who continue their journey. We also remember and honor those we have lost.

Let’s use this month to spread awareness, encourage early detection, support one another, and remind those affected by breast cancer that they are not alone.

We remember. We support. We stand together.

This morning, I had the privilege of giving opening remarks at the Direct Service Providers Symposium, hosted by our Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) team in partnership with CEMA. St. Louis Office of Financial Empowerment City of St. Louis EM

Today’s symposium brought together community service providers from across the City and County of St. Louis to discuss financial empowerment, emergency preparedness, and how we can better support residents when disaster strikes.

When we work together, share resources, and strengthen our networks, we are better prepared to help our communities weather unexpected challenges.

Thank you to all of the service providers, partners, and organizations who joined us today and continue doing the important work of serving St. Louis residents.

to last week’s Park(ing) Day!

We had a blast out in the community celebrating the 20th anniversary of Park(ing) Day! And, in true St. Louis tradition, it was definitely “Hot in HERRE!” 🔥☀️

It was a hot one, but that didn’t stop our neighborhoods from showing up and making it a fun-filled day for families, friends and the community.

A big THANK YOU to all the neighborhoods, businesses and community partners who participated and helped make Park(ing) Day 2026 a success!

Parking Information:
• Metered parking will be available throughout downtown.
• Need additional parking? Our Central Downtown Garage at 7th & Pine is available for convenient parking.
• Easily pay for metered parking through the ParkLouie app.

Safety Reminder: Please keep valuables out of sight and, whenever possible, store them securely in your vehicle’s trunk.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultures, contributions, history and achievements of Hispanic and Latino communities. Today, we recognize some of the trailblazers who have paved the way and made history in finance and public service:

Romana Acosta Bañuelos — The first Latina and Mexican American to serve as Treasurer of the United States, serving from 1971–1974.

Alberto G. Musalem — President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, who became the first Hispanic president of a regional Federal Reserve Bank in 2024.

Christine Cavazos Bennett — Our very own Assistant Treasurer for the City of St. Louis, whose leadership and service continue to make an impact in our community.

This month, we honor those who paved the way, those who are leading today, and those who will carry the torch forward.

We’re Out in the Community!

The Treasurer’s Office extends a big THANK YOU to neighborhood associations across the City for inviting us to connect with your residents!

Treasurer Adam Layne and our team value every opportunity to share who we are, explain the work we do, and, most importantly, listen to residents and learn how we can help.

Thank you to the South Hampton Neighborhood Association for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to connect with your community. We appreciate the conversation, the engagement, and the opportunity to hear directly from St. Louis residents.

South Hampton residents, did we answer your questions?
Tell us in the comments below!
