'We need your help': St. Louis non-profit loses city funding for shelters City Hope St. Louis has operated multiple night-by-night shelters in the St. Louis metro region for the past three years. Now, funding by the city is gone.

City Hope St. Louis was founded in September 2019 to address urgent shelter needs during a Winter Vortex that covered the region. Three years later, we have served thousands of unhoused individuals in the Metropolitan Saint Louis area and provided employment to over one hundred individuals, some being our unhoused guests.

This year in celebration of our third year anniversary, City Hope St. Louis is hosting a black-tie gala, reporting its accomplishments to the community. This fundraising celebration provides financial resources to support the agency’s programs and is also a time to recognize employees and community partners committed to the vision and mission of City Hope St. Louis.

As homelessness statistics continue to steadily increase, City Hope St. Louis continues to operate several shelters for the unhoused year around. In addition, we are redeveloping our transitional housing and workforce development programs and are developing substance abuse and youth programs. We believe that the development of true relationships with the individuals we serve and a deep-rooted desire to address all aspects of their immediate and long-term needs with love & dignity are the keys to our success. We are not just a shelter for the homeless. We are so much more!

Today, City Hope St. Louis celebrates one of its greatest accomplishments! With love, dignity and respect, we have successfully walked one of our unhoused guests through the college enrollment process. He is moving into his dorm today! Our team will be supporting him through graduation. Here more about his story during our Anniversary Gala on September 19th at Hotel St. Louis!

St. Louis nonprofit's warming center fills within 10 minutes of opening City Hope St. Louis' founder says they're running out of room at their eight sites as temperatures drop to dangerous lows.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., City Hope St. Louis will be offering on-site and virtual interviews with qualified candidates at our training center located at 2006 South 8th Street in St. Louis.
