Ladder training with Battalion Chief Tom Heggemeyer, Captain Tyler Burns, Captain Nick King, Firefighter Gary Mandrell, Captain Kevin Marshall, & Firefighter Chris Tobin.
Class 129 took their training to new heights this week during ladder operations — including climbs of up to 100 feet!
A huge thank you to Community Fire Protection District, Maryland Heights Fire Protection District, Monarch Fire Protection District, and the St. Louis City Fire Department for providing apparatus for this week’s training.
We’d also like to give a special thank you to the on-duty crews who brought the trucks to the Academy, shared their knowledge and experience, and worked directly with our recruits throughout the training. Their time and willingness to help gave our recruits valuable hands-on experience with different apparatus and aerial ladders.
We greatly appreciate the continued support of our area fire departments and the firefighters who help make training opportunities like this possible.
Class 129 is dedicated to Retired Chief Chuck Coyne of the Community Fire Protection District.
