Stamford Public Schools has launched a new Welcome Center at Cloonan Middle School, creating a centralized hub for family resources and school services. All thanks to fellow Republican, Lorraine Olson, Chair of the Stamford Health Commission.

This initiative aims to make processes like student registration and assessments, making it easier for families, especially those new to the city or country, to access essential support. Plans are also underway to include a food pantry within the center.

• Cap the price of all future long-term energy purchases
• Redefine the definition of Class I renewable energy sources to include nuclear and hydropower

Should Stamford appointees stay in office indefinitely after their terms expire?

A recent CT Examiner article highlights a growing debate over holdover appointees, with some serving years past their terms on key boards like Zoning and Planning. While city attorneys argue this ensures continuity on the boards, opponents say it undermines accountability and the democratic process.

What does you think? Please tell us in the comments.
