In response to yesterday’s heavy rainfall and flooding in our area, the City of Stamford activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 8:00 am, to monitor conditions and coordinate Public Safety and Operations resources. City personnel responded to numerous streets, intersections, residences, and businesses affected by high-water conditions.

We continue to work with the Connecticut Division Emergency Management & Homeland Security and FEMA to help residents and business needing to document impacts and support the recovery process.

We want to remind residents that if your home or business experienced flood-related damage, please report it—even if cleanup or repairs have already begun.

➡ Submit a report through the State’s CrisisTrack Damage Survey: https://crisistrack.juvare.com/public/CTDEMHS/request.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawUVNRNwZG9mAWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAGJyaWQRMXhxcUczMlhNcW96b2J4YUxzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEe6l449iVQW8nHc9CMjlSy6Ov_rch75vTwUpj5Pq-I-fen-Idw6dtqRuUAcNE_aem_AP3EV-6yoIGtyfYgHynN7A.

The CrisisTrack survey helps State and local officials document the extent of flood damage and assess potential eligibility for State, FEMA, and/or SBA assistance.

Submitting a report does not guarantee financial assistance, and certain losses may not qualify. Residents and businesses should retain photos, insurance information, receipts, estimates, and other documentation related to the damage.

➡ Additional information regarding flood preparedness and protection and resources can be found on the city's website: https://www.stamfordct.gov/government/operations/environmental-protection-board/flood-information-and-resources?fbclid=IwY2xjawUVNRVwZG9mAWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAGJyaWQRMXhxcUczMlhNcW96b2J4YUxzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeM4FlhWogdLPiYC6xNr2g9_hcsnZ5lrEVqGb-9rfZJOYaw6mVahiZLVjSVhE_aem_IU2Gi0ujx3SiEqENtaNIUA.

You can also submit a Fix It ticket, which will help City Operations keep track of and document impacted areas: https://veoci.com/v/p/form/wbvcc7v4ycns?fbclid=IwY2xjawUVNRdwZG9mAWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAGJyaWQRMXhxcUczMlhNcW96b2J4YUxzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEef7549Ps-OsIFS2OqqmOED00xAveLAg-AeiLujSTjbL25k6prl8zFB7YjVZk_aem_kDByqpaYOVCmWLJNsTXjoQ.

Today, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th terrorist attacks. We honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including the ten Stamford residents who lost their lives that day, and hold their families in our hearts.

We also pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who ran toward the danger to help others. That includes the 343 members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the many first responders who have since lost their lives or continue to live with illnesses resulting from their service at Ground Zero.

Although this day will forever be etched in our memory as a day of unimaginable loss, we also witnessed extraordinary acts of service and humanity, not just from first responders, but from ordinary Americans. From those who volunteered at Ground Zero, to the thousands of Americans who waited in line for hours to donate blood, to those men and women who signed up to serve in our military. These selfless acts demonstrated a unity and patriotism that brought us all strength in the days and months that followed.

09/11/2026

The Stamford Fire Department will hold its annual 9/11 ceremony this Friday at 7:00 pm, marking 25 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks.

We invite the public to join us as we remember and honor all those who lost their lives on that tragic day.

Please be aware that beginning at 6:30 pm, the Washington Boulevard southbound lanes will be closed for on-street parking.
