Last week Recruit Warren participated in a community service project while away at training at DOCJT in Richmond. This was part of an initiative for the recruits to give back to the kids of the community and Recruit Warren was one of those selected to represent his class which in turn represented our department. Recruit Warren decorated his cruiser and supplied the kids with candy purchased by himself with fellow Stanford PD officers pitching in as well.

Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Lincoln County

STANFORD, Ky. (October 21, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 7 Richmond, was contacted just before 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, regarding a fatal two-vehicle collision involving a commercial motor vehicle at the intersection of US 27 South and KY 698 in Lincoln County.

⚠️ PSA: TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR THIS EVENING ⚠️
PLEASE SHARE

The Bourbon Chase Relay is coming through Stanford tonight, Friday, October 2, 2026, bringing hundreds of runners, support vans and run teams into the area.

With that comes some traffic impacts. Please plan accordingly, use extra caution and WATCH FOR RUNNERS!

EXPECTED IMPACT: Approximately 6:00 PM–12:00 AM

• Runners will be traveling from Danville toward Stanford on US 150 West. Runners will be traveling eastbound on the shoulder of the westbound lane, so PLEASE use caution.

• We have been advised that US 150 Westbound may be reduced to one lane from Lee Drive into Boyle County. This has not been confirmed. If both lanes remain open, PLEASE watch carefully for runners in the right lane/shoulder.

• Runners will cross all four lanes of US 150 at Danville Avenue. USE EXTREME CAUTION in this area.

• Runners will then travel along Danville Avenue and cross at Portman Avenue.

• Another group of runners will leave Main Street, travel west toward KY 78, and then continue toward KY 300/Junction City.

DOWNTOWN / ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS

• Beginning at approximately 5:00 PM, Main Street will likely be closed to through traffic from Lancaster Street to Somerset Street if traffic, runners or safety becomes an issue. The potential for closure is expected to remain in place for the duration of the event, depending on traffic, until approximately 1:00 AM.

• Lancaster Street: The northbound lane from Main Street will remain open for outbound traffic. The southbound lane from Durham’s Grocery toward Main Street may be controlled or closed closed depending on traffic conditions.

• Maxwell Street and Portman Avenue: USE CAUTION. Expect increased pedestrian and vehicle activity.

• Somerset Street will remain open and will be the preferred route for motorists needing to access HWY 27 or KY 78 toward Hustonville.

• US 150 and Danville Avenue will remain open, but expect heavier traffic and runners in these areas.

⚠️ PLEASE REMEMBER: Routes, closures and traffic patterns are subject to change as needed based on conditions throughout the evening.

If you’re traveling through Stanford tonight, slow down, stay alert and watch for runners and support vehicles. If you can avoid these areas during the event, please consider doing so.

And again—PLEASE SHARE so we can get this information out to as many people as possible.

**This event is not a City of Stanford event and is not organized by or affiliated with the City of Stanford.**

Stay safe.

Please join us in congratulating Recruits Bo Wallin and Leevi Warren as they were officially sworn in by Interim Mayor Jeremy Johnson prior to beginning their journey through the Kentucky Law Enforcement Basic Training Academy.

Both recruits were hired by Mayor Dalton Miller this year and have already been working in the community, completing in-house and field training with the Stanford Police Department while awaiting their academy dates. Recruit Wallin will begin the academy on Monday, while Recruit Warren is tentatively scheduled to attend in September.

What makes this especially meaningful is that both Bo and Leevi chose to stay in their hometown to serve the community that helped shape them. As graduates of Lincoln County High School, they have each demonstrated a longstanding commitment working in law enforcement ti make a difference in the community they were raised. Recruit Wallin has participated in the department’s Ride-Along Program since high school, and Recruit Warren served as a department intern a few years ago during his senior year through the Lincoln County High School Co-Op Program.

We are proud to welcome these outstanding young men to our department and grateful for their desire to serve the citizens of Stanford and Lincoln County. We wish them both a safe, successful, and rewarding career in law enforcement and look forward to watching them grow as they serve the community they have always proudly called home.
