National 4-H Week is coming to an end! Once a 4-H'er, Always a 4-H'er

Here’s our 4-H Agent, Meagan’s!

My 4-H journey started when I joined the Madison County Dairy Club after spending summers in the barn with friends, wanting a project of my own, and begging my dad to let me join. I fell in love with dairy cows at a young age going to farms with my dad as he milked and tested cows for DHIA. That love continued when I was able to show dairy heifers (brown Swiss cattle had my heart, and still does), steers, and eventually pigs. I always knew I wanted to stay involved in 4-H in some way and after being a summer intern at Culpeper Extension for two summers I knew I wanted to make a career of it. I absolutely fell in love with the sides of 4-H I didn’t participate in as a kid like in school programs, workshops, and CAMP! That little girl keeping bottle calves in the garage and being in the barn every minute she could now gets to keep instilling that love of 4-H into the next generation.

What’s your 4-H story?
