🌯 Meet Araleides Heinle, a business owner whose greatest joy is feeding Stanley's residents. What began as a hobby turned into a profession as Araleides' cooking garnered admiration from the community. She was able to grow her business, Mex-Mix, from a food trailer to a full sit-down restaurant.

"This is what I was born for. I was born to give love to people and to show them you can make a difference. One day I'll pass away, and people will remember me for who I was. And for me, that’s more important than having money and anything else." -Araleides Heinle

πŸŽ‰ In honor of , we celebrate Araleides and the contributions of Hispanic entrepreneurs who share their culture, support the local economy, and strengthen communities.

πŸ₯ Mary Dennis has served hundreds of families in need of food during her 14 years leading the Mountrail Community Food Pantry. Her favorite part of the work is seeing the positive reactions from clients. To Mary, it shows that her work does more than feeding families; it gives them hope and strength.

Since 2025, the pantry has distributed more than 215,000 pounds of food in Mountrail County. There is a wide selection of nutritious options, including dairy products and other grocery essentials. Looking ahead, Mary hopes to expand food offerings and continue improving pantry operations to better serve communities.β€‹β€Œ

🏫 New Town teacher Laura Schmidt launched a schoolwide initiative to help students overcome academic struggles and promote literacy. Inspired by her own child's challenges, Laura became a teacher with a mission to help other students build stronger reading skills and academic confidence.
πŸ“• That passion led her to bring a book vending machine to Edwin Loe Elementary School, giving students the opportunity to earn books through positive behavior and making reading more exciting and rewarding. The initiative expands access to literature, helping more students to experience the joy of owning a new book.
