SCAM/FRAUD Alert:

We have fielded many calls recently regarding a website that has been determined to be fraudulent and is posing as a legitimate business in the City of Stanley, Wisconsin. Many of the products that the scam business (Kezar Performance) has listed on their website are far below market prices, which is unfortunately enticing interested buyers, resulting in them becoming victims.

We are aware of multiple victims throughout the United States and have also fielded approximately ten calls from individuals who stumbled across the website and red flags went up due to the "too good to be true" pricing, leading them to reach out to us and inquire about the legitimacy of the supposed business in our community.

We have done the things that we can thus far to report the website and are working with the FBI as more information is brought to our attention. We are not aware of anyone locally that has fallen victim but our hope if that by sharing this information perhaps it will reach others through the country and keep them from experiencing the same fate.

This is the website address for the fraudulent business. Please share!

Our advanced compressors deliver superior air pressure and performance for industrial, commercial, and automotive applications. Built for durability, they ensure seamless operation every time.

It is with profound sadness that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Wisconsin State Patrol announce the line-of-duty death of Trooper Bradley Ritger at the age of 29.

On September 21, 2026, Trooper Ritger was responding to a traffic pursuit when he deployed a tire deflation device on a bridge deck west of the Dunn County/Eau Claire County line. As he moved to a position of cover, he fell from the bridge onto the roadway below. Despite lifesaving efforts and critical medical care, Trooper Ritger succumbed to his injuries on October 2, 2026.

Trooper Ritger joined the Wisconsin State Patrol as a member of the 67th Recruit Class. He served in the Northwest Region for nearly five years, primarily in the Dunn County area. During his career, he attained certifications as a general law enforcement instructor, mobile field force team member and squad leader, and salvage vehicle inspector. Prior to his service with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Trooper Ritger served with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for three years.

Trooper Ritger was a dedicated public servant whose strong work ethic and positive presence left a lasting impact on anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He approached every situation with professionalism, integrity and a genuine commitment to serving others. Whether assisting the public, supporting his fellow troopers, or taking on difficult challenges, he consistently demonstrated compassion and willingness to help wherever needed. His dedication to his family and unwavering commitment to his profession will not be forgotten.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Trooper Ritger’s family, friends, loved ones and all who served alongside him. As the community mourns, the Wisconsin State Patrol has placed a law enforcement memorial vehicle at its Northwest Region Post in Eau Claire where the public is welcome to drop off cards, flowers, or other condolences.

Out of respect for the family, no additional information will be shared at this time. Funeral arrangements are being made by the family. We kindly ask media and the public to respect their privacy and space for grieving.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former Stanley Police Chief Roy Fredrickson.

Chief Fredrickson was sworn in as a patrol officer for the City of Stanley on October 24th, 1985. He later completed the 320-hour recruit training program at VTAE District One - Eau Claire (currently known as Chippewa Valley Technical College) in March of 1986 and became certified as a law enforcement officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board on June 4, 1986.

He worked as a patrol officer for the City of Stanley until January of 1993 when he was appointed to the position of Police Chief, a position he held until his retirement in August of 2011.

We are incredibly grateful for Chief Fredrickson's service to our community and are certainly going to miss seeing him around town. Those of us that had the privilege of knowing him will forever cherish the time and memories that we were able to make with him over the years.

We are especially thinking of his wife Linda, along with his daughters Kayla and Deanne and their families during this very difficult time. May they find peace and comfort in knowing that Roy lived a life filled with integrity, a heart for service and an immense love for his family.
