Here is my Utah Book Cliffs buck!

When I first got the call from Utah Fish and Game saying someone had surrendered their tag and I was next on the alternate list, I had mixed feelings. With all the logistics involved, it was a lot to figure out on short notice. After talking it over with the guys and my wife, I realized I had basically been handed a golden ticket for an opportunity to kill my biggest buck.

Zack and I loaded up and headed for Utah Friday evening, and by Sunday morning, I was blessed with the opportunity I had been hoping for. I made it happen, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how it all came together.

The goal was simple, kill my biggest buck and still have enough vacation time left to head to Montana with the boys in November. Mission accomplished.

Huge thanks to Zack for making the trip with me and absolutely crushing it behind the camera. Can’t wait for you guys to see the footage!

I honestly just want to kill my biggest buck, which is only 145”. I think we can beat that.

The work you put in before the season is what builds confidence when it matters most. Consistent practice, knowing your setup, and being honest about your capabilities.

It’s also a great reminder to check your equipment before the season starts. After bouncing around in your truck, getting packed in and out of the field, or sitting in storage, don’t assume your r***e and optic are still dialed. Take the time to verify your zero and make sure everything is ready before opening day.

Put in the work now so you’re not guessing when it counts.
