πŸ₯ΈπŸš’ Movember is almost here! πŸš’πŸ₯Έ

Starting November 1, NCRFA employees will be growing their best mustaches in support of Movember, a global movement focused on raising awareness for men's health, including mental health, su***de prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Our internal mustache competition is officially on, and things could get a little hairy around the fire stations over the next few weeks. Check out our promo video and watch the whiskers develop!

πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ Stay tuned at the end of November when we'll invite the community to help vote for their favorite mustache and crown this year's champion.

🚨πŸ”₯ From Training to Action! πŸ”₯🚨

Congratulations to Tennessy Fraumeni, an Arlington School District teacher and recipient of our Civilian Phoenix Award! πŸ†πŸ¦…

After participating in ACT First Aid & CPR training taught by Firefighter/Paramedic Steve Daggett, Tennessy put her training into action during an emergency in her classroom last May. β€οΈπŸ‘

Her calm thinking, preparedness, and willingness to act turned a moment of crisis into one of hope, resilience, and recovery. We're proud to recognize her outstanding actions and remind our community that training truly saves lives. πŸ’™πŸš‘

Trust in emergency services is built on transparency, accountability, and honest communication.

During a recent Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, the Fire Chief addressed inaccurate information that has been circulating on social media and reaffirmed NCRFA's commitment to serving our community with integrity.

"The residents of North County and the Stillaguamish Valley deserve accurate information, transparency, and confidence in their emergency services."

We encourage our community to watch the full statement and stay informed through official sources.

πŸŽ„πŸ’ͺ The 12 Weeks of Fit-Mas Challenge is underway! πŸ’ͺπŸŽ„

Last week's challenge was "Get Your Gear Together" πŸš’πŸ§€πŸ‘’

When the tones drop, these members are ready to roll! They're the ones fully geared up and waiting at the rig while everyone else is still hunting for a glove. πŸ˜†

πŸ‘ Congratulations to our challenge winners: πŸ† Captain Eric Johnson
πŸ† Medic Jake Terwilliger
πŸ† Firefighter Mitchell Bohart

Great work showing that preparedness, speed, and a little friendly competition go a long way! πŸ”₯πŸš‘

πŸš’πŸ’™ Big thanks to the Gary Sinise Foundation and Amazon for investing in the safety of our communities and first responders!

The North County Regional Fire Authority is honored to receive a $50,000 grant for new battery-powered, cordless hydraulic extrication tools, commonly known as the β€œJaws of Life.” These state-of-the-art tools will help our crews perform vehicle rescue operations more efficiently and safely when every second counts. πŸš‘βš™οΈ

We also celebrate our partners at Marysville Fire District, who received funding for advanced CPR training equipment that will help save lives across our region. Together, these investments strengthen emergency response capabilities throughout Snohomish County. πŸ‘

Thank you to the Gary Sinise Foundation and Amazon for supporting those who serve and protect our communities every day. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ

πŸš’πŸ“š Learning, leading, and bringing inspiration back to our communities!

North County Regional Fire Authority’s Board of Fire Commissioners are attending the annual Washington Fire Commissioners Association (WFCA) Conference in Spokane! πŸ”₯

It’s an inspiring opportunity to connect with fire service leaders, strengthen knowledge, and gain valuable education and training to better serve our communities.

A highlight of the conference was keynote speaker Michael Laughlin, Canada’s first and only full-time firefighter with an above-the-knee amputation. πŸ’ͺ His story is a powerful reminder of resilience, determination, and what’s possible when passion and purpose lead the way.

Thank you to WFCA for providing opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen the future of fire service leadership! β€οΈπŸš’

πŸš’πŸ“š Today, the crew from E99 visited Our Savior's Lutheran Preschool in Stanwood to share some fire safety tips and give students an up-close look at one of our fire engines! πŸš’βœ¨

It's never too early to start learning about fire prevention and safety. We love opportunities to connect with our youngest community members and help build lifelong safety habits. β€οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

πŸŽƒπŸš’ A little Halloween spirit has arrived at Station 99! πŸ‘»πŸ§‘

On the 16th, Firefighter Paramedic Melillo successfully convinced, coerced, and/or guilted the entire Station 99 crew into a pumpkin-carving project to brighten up our public entry area. What started as "just another crew project" quickly turned into a lot of fun, plenty of laughs, and some surprisingly respectable seasonal creations! πŸŽƒπŸ‘

While you're decorating for Halloween, remember this important fire safety tip: Never place a burning candle inside your jack-o'-lantern. Instead, use battery-operated tea lights or LED candles for a safer glow and a reduced fire risk. πŸ”₯βž‘οΈπŸ’‘

We hope everyone has a fun, festive, and safe Halloween season! πŸ‚πŸŽƒ
