Centre County Metropolitan Planning Organization The Centre County MPO is responsible for coordinating the transportation planning process in Centre County.

Federal law and regulations require that local and State officials work cooperatively to maintain a continuous and comprehensive long-range transportation planning program in all urbanized areas with a population of over 50,000 persons, which includes Centre County, Pennsylvania. This Federal mandate is carried out by a formal group called a "metropolitan planning organization (MPO)." The CCMPO works closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Centre County Planning Commission (CCPC), the Centre County Planning and Community Development Office (CCPCDO), and the SEDA-COG MPO (headquartered in Lewisburg, PA) to identify and prioritize transportation improvement projects in Centre County.

‼️Reminder for this week‼️
PennDOT work to replace the concrete bus lane on College Avenue, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28 through Thursday, Oct. 1, will result in the following impacts to traffic and transit service:
• A single-lane closure of College Avenue from McAllister Street to S. Allen Street will be in effect. Delays are expected, and drivers should watch for slow-moving and stopped vehicles throughout the work zone.
• The crosswalk at Pugh Street will be closed. Pedestrians approaching College Avenue from Pugh Street will follow a detour to the crosswalk at McAllister Street.
• All campus and community transit routes that travel on College Avenue will experience delays. See below for a full list of impacts:

CATA
For riders affected by the stop closure, the following alternative stops may be used during the closure:
• All riders are encouraged to use the bus stop at Pattee Library.
• Riders on the CC, NV, RP, or UP routes may use the stop on East College Avenue at Atherton Hall. Because of congestion in this area, only riders on these four routes should use this stop.
• Riders on the AC route are encouraged to use either the stop on Beaver Avenue at Schlow Library/CATA Office or the stop on Atherton Street at the Walker Building.

CAMPUS SHUTTLE
• The closest alternative stops for Campus Shuttle via College Avenue riders who normally use the College Avenue/Allen Street stop are College Avenue at Hiester Street and Burrowes Road at Reber Building.

Normal transit service will resume once PennDOT finishes its work. All work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
