Saturday is Cranksgiving, and I want to share why this food drive means so much to me.

I’m the little brother in these photos.

In 1981, YSB matched me with my Big Brother, Greg. That’s us at Holmes-Foster Park, playing on that old playground equipment so many of us remember and loved, and sharing a meal at CC Peppers. Not pictured are the Penn State football games, bike rides, the Phi Psi 500, and so many other memories we made together. Rest in peace, Greg.

YSB was part of my childhood for many years. Now, hosting Cranksgiving State College is one way I give back.

Cranksgiving is a food drive benefiting the Centre County Youth Service Bureau. Join me Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 851 Science Park Road.

Let’s turn a little generosity into a lot of food.

Yesterday, Cutting Edge Tree Professionals, https://www.facebook.com/cuttingedgetreepros, came to our main office at 325 West Aaron Drive in State College and completed some work around a grand oak on the front of the property. The tree needs some TLC to improve its health. Thank you to Cutting Edge for their expertise, and we look forward to seeing the tree with healthy green leaves next year.
