Wed - October 21, 2026 @ 6 AM EDT: Get out if you can and enjoy this incredibly long string of dry, sunny and mild weather for late October. Aside from a stray, light sprinkle across the Northern Mountains of PA late Thursday or Thursday night, along and in the wake of a weak cold front, a zero percent chance of measurable rain will occur through this weekend and probably Monday as well. The animated image below shows cloud cover at 3 different levels in the atmosphere and at 3 hour intervals from 8 AM today through 8 PM Thursday followed by a map of today's high temperatures and their departure from normal.

High pressure will remain in control for the rest of this week and into the weekend. Mostly clear skies and seasonal temperatures will be forecast through Sunday. Highs this week will remain largely in the 60's every day while we remain in this high pressure regime.

Tuesday - October 20, 2026 @ 615 AM EDT:

Spectacular early Autumn weather will continue for at least the next 7 days thanks to persistent high pressure over the NE U.S., resulting in very little in the way of clouds and likely no measurable rain.

Afternoon temperatures will average 6 to 10 degrees above normal for this upcoming 7 day stretch. Highs will be mainly in the 60s each day, except for Friday when the higher terrain could top out in the low to mid 50s and around 60 throughout the Central and Southern Valleys - following another dry cold frontal passage.
