We had our ISO water supply evaluation this afternoon, and passed with flying colors. The State Fire Marshal's Office will be back to evaluate our newly marked water points, documentation, and a few other things in the near future. We are well on the way to a better ISO rating, which is good for the Mountain Park community homeowners insurance premiums!

I'd like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this possible today.

Sunday we will be evaluated on our ability to provide water for a structure fire by a NC State Fire Marshal's Office evaluator. 5 minutes is the alotted time, and out time is consistently averaging 2 minutes and 30 seconds over the last few training sessions.

We have the potential to lower our insurance rating several points from this ongoing evaluation and this is good for the citizens and tax payers in our community.

Your volunteers are working hard for their community.

Just a friendly reminder. "HIGH PROBABILITY" It's going left. Well, we all know how that goes. So prepare for it to punch us in the nose tomorrow evening, but hope for it not to. Grab some spare batteries, be careful with the candles, charge your cell phone, and if you are out of power and need something important, contact 911 (emergencies, not that you need milk😜🥛) and we will be there to help.

Remember the video we posted a few weeks ago with the sparking power lines..... Don't touch them or drive over them if you can help it.

Had a great time at Mountain Park Elementary school today for Fire Prevention week.. We would like to thank Ranger Janet White-Key and Ranger Luke for letting Smokey the Bear ride with them to visit with the kids, that was a blast. Tyler Walters got to show off all the fire truck equipment, the teachers got to show off their fire extinguisher skills, and we got to eat special cookies made for the kids from LG Confections that Junior Walters and Lynn Walters so kindly donated for the kiddos, (isn't that edible logo! neat)? It's always a pleasure to work the with excellent teaching staff and the great kids at the Elementary school every year. I got to eat in the cafeteria I had not eaten in over 30 years ago.... Which was a blast from the past! And the food was great! 🎉
