⛳ Borough President Vito Fossella hit the links with Dr. Roderick Palton, superintendent of District 31, and Staten Island public high school students for the Annual District 31 Golf Outing at LaTourette Golf Course on Tuesday.
The golf outing brought together students from the Borough Student Advisory Councils and members of My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper, educational initiatives that join diverse groups of youth and provide them with access to experiences that empower them, build confidence, and strengthen community ties.
Borough President Fossella chatted with the students about their goals as they played a few rounds together.
Thank you to Dr. Palton for inviting us and to all of the students for their dedication to the community.

Borough President Vito Fossella was honored to attend the annual mass for eighth-grade students from Staten Island’s 14 Catholic elementary schools.
“We all have the same mission and that is to give all of you the best opportunity possible to succeed in life” said Borough President Fossella at yesterday’s mass in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. “That’s a promise we can keep, that’s a promise we can make -- and now, it’s up to you because your best days are ahead of you.”
Borough President Fossella left the students with a simple message: “Take advantage of the people who believe in you; believe in yourself; get a mentor; thank your teachers, and keep climbing the ladder -- and if you fall down, get back up and keep climbing the mountain.”
