This Saturday, join Nonprofit Staten Island’s Community Climate Corps, American Red Cross in Greater New York, Con Edison, NYC Emergency Management, and P.S. 56 for a free, family-friendly Community Preparedness Fair.

Get practical guidance on flood safety, evacuation planning, emergency communication, and household preparedness before hurricane season.

Families can stop by for:

✅ Free household preparedness supplies
✅ Hands-on “Pack Your Go Bag” activity
✅ Kid-friendly preparedness activities, food, and local resources

Extreme heat can become dangerous fast. Watch for symptoms like:

💧 Heavy sweating
😓 Dizziness or weakness
🤕 Headaches
🤢 Nausea
💓 Rapid pulse

If you start feeling sick:
✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Move to a cool or air-conditioned place
✅ Avoid strenuous outdoor activity

Cooling centers are open across NYC to help residents stay safe during this heat wave. Check on neighbors, older adults, and anyone vulnerable to extreme heat.
