Sharpe House Etiquette Class 06/03/2026

"What fork do I use?"

It's a small question — but the confidence to answer it, and a hundred moments like it, is what sets a young person apart at a college interview, a first job, or any table they'll ever sit at.

This summer, give your teen that edge. The Etiquette Class for Young Adults at the historic Sharpe House — led by Keith Rhyne — teaches ages 12–16 the real skills behind social confidence: making a first impression, holding a conversation, and navigating any dining or formal setting with ease.

It all comes together at the Grand Finale — a formal dinner at the Sharpe House where students put everything they've learned into practice.

📍 The Historic Sharpe House · Statesville, NC 🗓 Two summer sessions begin the week of June 16 👤 Ages 12–16 · classes limited to 12 students

Reserve your teen's spot 👉

Sharpe House Etiquette Class Etiquette is the "soft skill" that produces hard results. Give your student the tools to walk into any room in the world and feel completely at home.

World War 1 Music 05/24/2026

Today we hosted our Tea and Tales and I was undecided as to which stories I was going to tell. When I realized it’s Memorial Day Weekend, the choice was obvious.
We had a cream tea as we listened to the Spotify soundtrack, seated at the family’s dining room table and discussed the Sharpe family and most notably, Quincy Sharpe Mills who died in France during WWI. We have a copy of the book about him and we had his photograph in the room with us.
I’ve included the link to the book about Lieutenant Mills “One Who Gave his Life” for those interested. It’s a compilation of his works and letters.
