When we see a wooded encampment, it's easy to focus on the circumstances. It's more important to see the people.

Each person experiencing homelessness is someone's child, parent, sibling, friend, or neighbor. Many of our neighbors in Iredell County are facing challenges that have left them without stable housing, but they have not lost their worth, their dignity, or their potential.

Through Fifth Street Ministries' PATH Street Outreach Program, our team meets people where they are - building trust, providing essential resources, and helping connect individuals to shelter, healthcare, housing opportunities, and hope for a better future.

You can be part of that hope.

A financial gift to Fifth Street Ministries helps ensure that outreach workers can continue reaching our most vulnerable neighbors with compassion, practical support, and pathways toward lasting stability.

Together, we can replace isolation with connection and hardship with hope.

đź’— Baby Isabella is just one week old and doing well!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, she has everything she needs except a breast pump for her mom.

If you have one to donate, please message us and drop it by Fifth Street Ministries, Attn: Tammy Autry.

Sometimes investing in a brighter future starts with one simple act of kindness. đź’•

Some gifts do more than fix a problem—they create new possibilities.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to I & R Waterproofing, Inc. I&R Waterproofing Inc. for their incredible generosity and expertise. When moisture and mold issues threatened one of our basement spaces, their team stepped in and donated the labor, materials, and professional knowledge needed to address the problem the right way.

Thanks to their work, the mold was remediated, moisture concerns were addressed, and the space has been protected for the future. But the impact goes beyond walls and waterproofing.

Because of this investment, we can now begin reimagining how this basement space might be used to further the mission of Fifth Street Ministries and strengthen our umbrella of services for the community. What was once a space limited by ongoing concerns can now become a space filled with opportunity.

At Fifth Street Ministries, every improvement to our campus creates more potential to empower people in crisis to rebuild stability and achieve self-sufficiency. We are deeply grateful to community partners like I & R Waterproofing who see not only the need in front of them, but the possibilities that can grow from it.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger foundation—both literally and figuratively—for the work ahead.

As we approach the close of our fiscal year, we at Fifth Street Ministries are reflecting on the incredible lives that have been transformed through the generosity of supporters like you. Because of this community, hope is alive in Statesville and beyond.

For 352 days this year, our community has sustained the life-changing work of Fifth Street Ministries. Now, we invite you to help us finish the final 13 days strong as we prepare for our Light Up the Night with HOPE event on May 28.

📍 Join us on May 28 at the Statesville Historical Collection for an evening of conversation, connection, and stories of impact. Hear firsthand how your support is changing lives across our community.

Each day at Fifth Street Ministries requires $6,800 to provide:
• Safe shelter

• And most importantly… HOPE

Because of your support this year, together we have provided:

A Prayer for Our Community ❤️

Lord, help us to love our neighbors well.
To offer compassion where there is crisis.
To bring hope where there is fear.
And to remember that every meal, every safe night of shelter, every counseling session, and every act of kindness matters deeply.

As we approach June 30, Fifth Street Ministries is still seeking support to help fund our final 13 unfunded days of ministry.

Those 13 days represent:
• 1,043 nights of shelter on the Fifth Street Campus
• 122 nights of housing for Veterans
• 200 nights of safety for survivors of domestic violence
• More than 2,280 meals provided
• 38 counseling sessions
• 13 days of case management services
• Over 100 meaningful interactions with neighbors living outdoors
• The logistics of managing the above and then some

Henri Nouwen wrote that fundraising is an invitation to participate in God’s work. Today, we simply invite you to be part of this mission through prayer, sharing our story, volunteering, or financial support.

Together, we can continue restoring hope and rebuilding lives.

We are incredibly grateful to Bryony Goforth for choosing Fifth Street Ministries’ Veterans Tiny Homes as her Eagle Scout service project! 🇺🇸🏡

Bryony is raising funds to build a privacy fence around the Tiny Homes community, helping provide an added sense of safety, dignity, and peace for the veterans we serve. The fencing will help reduce unwanted animals and foot traffic wandering too close to the homes and create a more secure, respectful environment for our residents.

This is such a meaningful project, and we would love for our community to help support Bryony in bringing it to life. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference!

Thank you, Bryony, for your heart to serve others and for supporting our veterans in such a thoughtful way. ❤️

Some people just carry a light with them everywhere they go, and that’s exactly who Herbert is. No matter the circumstances, his positivity and love for others always shine through — which made it all the more special to celebrate the day he finally got a place to call home. ❤️

Herbert worked his plan faithfully at Fifth Street Ministries alongside his case manager, Debbie, and after months of waiting through the Statesville Housing Authority process, we finally got to watch his dream become reality.

For the first time in his life, Herbert has a home of his own. His own shower. His own kitchen. His own living room. His own space. 🏠

And one of the sweetest parts? Herbert went out and bought his own furniture with money he faithfully saved while at Fifth Street Ministries — proudly showing all of us that he could do it himself.

Herbert, we love you and we could not be more proud of you. What a beautiful and well-deserved milestone. 🎉
