We are proud to have represented I-CARE, Inc. at both the Region IV Head Start Association Leadership Summit in Atlanta and the North Carolina Head Start Association Summer Leadership & Teacher Summit.

Along with bringing back new ideas and resources, we were honored to have two I-CARE staff members selected as conference presenters. Kisha Hawthorne presented on effective IFSP and IEP referral strategies, and Debra Whisken presented on building meaningful professional development systems.

We are proud to have staff who not only continue to learn but also contribute their knowledge and expertise to the broader Head Start community. Experiences like these help strengthen our program and ultimately benefit the children and families we serve.

Poverty is often misunderstood.

Many of the assumptions we make about poverty don't reflect the realities that individuals and families face every day.

💡 That's why understanding matters.

Each community experiences different challenges, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
➡️ Over 1000 Community Action Agencies nationwide work locally to identify needs, remove barriers, and create opportunities that help people achieve stability and success.

At I-CARE, we believe stronger communities begin with understanding, compassion, and action.

In FY 2025, I-CARE supported 109 families through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), helping individuals and families access the resources, support, and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

From meeting basic needs and strengthening financial stability to connecting families with tools for long-term success, Community Action works to create pathways toward self-sufficiency and economic mobility.

Every family served represents a story of resilience, determination, and hope.
