Last week, members of our Advancement Team had a great time serving at Joey Logano's 4th Annual Concert for Charity, where singer-songwriter, HARDY, played to a sold-out crowd at Coyote Joe’s!🎸 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Joey Logano Foundation, which graciously supports CHA's children and families each year!

NASCAR Champion Joey Logano continues to be an incredible advocate for foster care and a passionate supporter of our mission. Thank you to Joey and the Joey Logano Foundation for all you do for CHA!🧡

We wanted to share one last beautiful foster care and adoption story as National Foster Care Awareness Month comes to an end... 🧡

Sophia came into the world facing challenges that required immediate care and attention. Because her mother struggled with substance use during pregnancy, Sophia was exposed to drugs in the womb. When she was born, she showed signs of withdrawal and needed extra care in her first days of life. To protect her health and give her the stability she needed, Sophia entered foster care shortly after leaving the hospital.

She was placed with a loving CHA foster family who provided her with a calm and stable home. From the very first meeting, they felt a strong connection and shared that they fell in love with her right away. They created predictable routines and responded to her needs with consistency and care.

As time passed, Sophia made wonderful progress. She became more curious and confident, showing her active personality, love for climbing, and strong imagination. Her foster parents often say she seems wise beyond her years.

When her adoption was finalized, it marked a joyful new chapter for their family. Today, Sophia is a happy 2-year-old who is loved and has a beautiful permanent home!💛

As we waited for the family and friends of Kyle Busch to contend with this tremendous and sudden loss, we were grieving with them. Kyle’s presence will continue to be felt through the NASCAR community, and through the children and families who meant so much to the Busch family.

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

We are so grateful to Weaverville Elementary School for their kindness and heart! Through their recent leadership project, “Bags of Hope,” their students organized a collection drive to gather basic necessities for children in our foster care program. This was such a sweet gesture that we are so thankful for!❤️

For National Foster Care Awareness Month, we'd love to share a wonderful foster care story that grew into the adoption of three young children.

When Ethan, Lily, and Maya entered foster care, they were quiet and guarded, focused on getting through each day rather than feeling it. Their emotions stayed hidden, and even simple routines felt hard after living in survival mode for so long because of their past trauma.

A turning point came when they moved in with their grandparents. From the start, the home felt different. Love was steady and expectations were clear, creating a sense of safety the children had not known before. With a trauma‑informed approach, the kids were given time and space to heal at their own pace.

Slowly, the children began to open up. They grew more comfortable expressing themselves and connecting with others. Their home soon became a place full of laughter, with neighborhood kids often gathering in the yard to play and spend time together.

When their adoption was finalized, there was no moment of surprise. Each child shared that it already felt complete. They had felt loved and secure long before the paperwork was signed.🧡

Our homeschooled Heartstrings kids had their last art class of the school year recently and made some beautiful acrylic pours! They learned different techniques on how to move the paint, and they all chose some fun colors. A great way to end the school year!🎨
