Are you or someone you know between the ages of 16 to 25, living in Iredell County, and facing challenges related to mental health or the transition into adulthood? We're here to help!

Our Healthy Transitions program is a FREE, grant-funded program designed to support young people in building life skills, accessing local resources, and planning for their future. Our program also provides financial assistance to remove obstacles and support independence. Financial assistance may be available for:

🏠 Housing and independent living needs
🚗 Car repairs, gas and more
🎓 Education and career expenses
🚑 Healthcare costs, wellness support, and childcare costs
📃 Essential documents fees and other barriers to success

Grab your costumes and make plans for a spooktacular night at Truist Stadium! The Winston-Salem Dash baseball team is hosting a FREE family event on Friday, October 30th!🎃 Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the evening features a showing of the movie Monsters, Inc. at 7 p.m., trick-or-treating, character appearances, and an awesome fireworks show!

We're thrilled to share that Heartstrings is now hosting FREE monthly virtual Growing Through Music classes for families with children ages 0-24 months old!🎵

"Home." That's how Bryson describes his foster mother when asked what she means to him.

At just 11 years old, Bryson was already carrying responsibilities and worries that no child should have to face. While experiencing homelessness and coping with his mother's hospitalization, he needed a safe and stable place to call home.

When Bryson was placed with a CHA foster mom, everything changed. She welcomed him with open arms, and her family embraced him as one of their own. She made sure he had everything he needed and encouraged him to get involved in activities he enjoyed at school and in the community. She introduced him to new experiences, places, and cultures. She also helped him maintain a relationship with his biological mother to make sure those important connections remained strong.

As their relationship grew, Bryson and his foster mom's daughter became inseparable, and he proudly began calling her his sister. Those who know Bryson and his foster mother say it was clear from the beginning that they were meant to be family. He takes his role as the "man of the house" seriously, cares deeply for his foster mother and sister, and has found the sense of belonging every child deserves. Today, Bryson enjoys dancing and is a proud member of the dance team at his local community center.

The support of the Joey Logano Foundation helps make stories like Bryson's possible. Their partnership provides critical resources and encouragement to children and families during some of life's most difficult moments. Meet Beverly!💛 Since 2009, Beverly has opened her heart and home to children as a Therapeutic Foster Parent. Guided by compassion, love, and a strong faith in God, she believes every child deserves the comfort of a peaceful home and the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and loved.

With more than 30 years of experience as a special education teacher, Beverly has a special place in her heart for teenagers on the autism spectrum. She often says that she receives just as much from the children she serves as she gives, and that every child has taught her an important lesson, with each one carrying its own blessing.

When asked why she continues to foster, Beverly shared that she loves seeing children who have been hurt begin to trust again and let go of their pain. We are so grateful for Beverly’s compassionate heart and her many years of dedication to children!❤️

Sometimes, a little help at the right time can change everything.

When a child in our Child ACTT program faced a behavioral health crisis, his mother had to miss work due to her own illness and her child's hospitalization. The resulting loss of income left the family struggling to keep up with housing expenses and at risk of eviction during an already difficult time.

A $300 emergency housing payment through our Crisis Needs Fund, made possible through Central Electric Membership Corp's Operation RoundUp program, helped this family stay in their home. This generous act of support gave the parents the opportunity to focus on their child's recovery instead of worrying about losing their home. Thank you, Central Electric Member Care Trust, for helping families find hope when they need it most!💙

Earlier this month, we welcomed supporters, community partners, and friends to our Age of Hope event for an evening centered on hope and impact, all with a fun Roaring Twenties theme. Guests heard powerful stories about the work we do, including a message from our CEO, Celeste Dominguez, who shared more about CHA's history and the life-changing impact of our programs across North Carolina. We also heard a moving testimony from one of our foster families whose journey was shaped by the support they received through CHA.

The evening sparked wonderful conversations and helped connect new supporters to our mission of serving thousands of children, youth, and families across NC. Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, and helped make this event so meaningful!🧡
