Parents/Guardians of Jr/Sr High School Students,

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support during our recent Flexible Instructional Days.

We are pleased to inform you that the building's hot water heater has been successfully replaced. As a result, the Jr./Sr. High School will resume its normal in-person schedule on Monday, October 5.

We appreciate the cooperation of our students, families, and staff as we worked through this unexpected situation and ensured that all health and safety requirements were met before reopening the building.

Thank you again for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday.

Reminder: There is a scheduled early dismissal for students and staff on Friday, October 9th. In addition, schools and offices will be closed on Monday, October 12th in observance of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day.

🏈💙 IT’S HOMECOMING, ROLLER NATION! 💙🏈

There’s nothing better than Thursday Night Football, and tomorrow night we’re making it even more special!

📅 Thursday, October 1, 2026
🏈 Steel-High Rollers vs. Newport
📍Bishop McDevitt’s Rocco Ortenzio Stadium
⏰ Kickoff: 7:00 PM

Roller fans, break out that ROLLER BLUE and come fill the stands as we celebrate SHHS HOMECOMING!

🎺 The Newport Marching Band will get the evening started with a special pregame performance.

👑 During halftime, we’ll introduce the SHHS Homecoming Court and crown our 2026 Homecoming King & Queen!

🐄🏈 Then, Chick-fil-A will give one lucky SHHS student the chance to step onto the field and attempt a field goal—with the Chick-fil-A Cow right there cheering them on!

🎶 And don’t head home too quickly! Immediately following the game, our Roller Pride Marching Band will take the field and perform their show!

And because football is always better with food… we understand there will be food trucks on site, along with plenty of those yummy stadium concessions! 😋

🎟️ Tickets available at the gate — cash or card
• Adults: $6
• Students: $3

It’s a Thursday night… what better way to spend it than under the lights with Roller Football, Homecoming, our bands, our students, our families and Roller Nation!

The Jr./Sr. High School will transition to Flexible Instructional Days starting Wednesday, September 30, and continuing through at least Friday, October 2, due to a failure of the building's hot water tank. Because hot water is necessary to meet sanitation requirements and maintain a safe learning environment, the building will remain closed to students during this period.

Students will receive assignments from their teachers each day and should complete them during regular school hours. The district will communicate any further updates as additional information becomes available.
