At noon today multiple callers reported a grass fire on the east side of I-76 at miler maker 124. The fire was actively moving south west while a lack of wind kept growth slow but dense grass and sage made for 5-10 foot flame lengths. Deep sand made accessing the main body of the fire difficult for responding crews. Units flanked the interstate side of the fire before moving onto shooting range property where the bulk of the fire was. Crews extinguished the fire in 10 minutes and mop up continued for about a half hour. The fire was estimated at just over an acre and no injuries or damage to structures was reported.

Units Responding: Fire 1, BAT 103, BAT 102, Tender 16, and LCSO.

**Warning updated 10PM**

The warning area has been made smaller to exclude the city. The warning area is now Northwestern Logan County north of the area of CR 38 and west of CR 39.

**Tornado Warning Issued**

A storm capable of producing a tornado has been indicated by radar and a tornado warning has been issued for NorthWestern/ Central Logan County.

**Severe Thunderstorm Warning**

At 922 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles north of North Sterling Reservoir, or 22 miles north of Sterling, moving south at 30 mph. The warning is in effect until 10PM

We know we sound like a broken record, but in addition to a flood watch in effect until 10PM, the national weather service has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9PM. Storms have the potential to be stronger and more severe than the past two days. Stay alert.
