Every school is back and in motion and so is the Jefferson County Juvenile Task Force. We are entering our 4th year of coming to every junior and senior high school in the county to provide the youth with a presentation built to educate, empower, and support them.

This year, the Juvenile Task Force will be entering the schools at the end of this month with a very important, necessary, and serious topic. We have two speakers coming to speak to the students about surviving and reporting child s*x abuse. One of the speakers is an investigator for Ohio BCI, Officer Jean-Philippe Rigaud whom we are proud to have as a member on our Juvenile Task Force. He has been giving this presentation to the Youngstown Diocese High Schools for the last few years and we are grateful and honored to have him bring this to our county. Officer Rigaud will be bringing a co-speaker to his presentations to assist him in covering the following areas for our youth:

1. the impact of abuse
2. what are and how to recognize grooming behaviors
3. a victim/survivor’s experiences
4. the obstacles to reporting
5. how to report it

This is a very serious and crucial topic that all agencies feel is of grave importance for the youth to learn and be aware of whether they are going through it themself or see one of their peers going through it. We urge you to let your child participate in these speaker presentations.

As always, the Juvenile Task Force has ensured that every school will have their counselors ready and prepared for this topic and we will have our Task Force professionals and resources available right there to support the school and your child.

If you have any questions, cares, or concerns please feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to educating and empowering our youth for their safety and well-being.

I’m teaming up with Ms. Paula Buterbaugh, a well known and experienced mentor who has spent years speaking with and guiding young ladies. She is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, bringing both mentorship and professional fitness knowledge to this event.

Together we will be hosting a mentorship and workout session focused on helping young women build confidence, make positive decisions, and stay on the right path. Along with getting a great workout in, we will also be sharing real life knowledge, encouragement, and tools to help them grow into strong, motivated young women.

Join the Movement! 🚀

Last year, we received some of the most impactful billboards created by talented students right from our community! Their messages resonated, inspired, and left a lasting mark. Now, it's time to raise the bar even higher!

If you have kids in grades 9-12, encourage them to participate. Their creativity can make a difference, spreading powerful messages that touch hearts and minds. Let's support our young changemakers and see their ideas shine across the county.

We need their help to make this year even more memorable! 👊🏽🐝👊🏽🐝
