Celebrating Respect & Kicking Off Responsibility! 🐾

Today we held our first Carson Elementary assembly of the year!** ❤️

We wrapped up our September focus on Respect by celebrating the many Kindness Coins our students earned throughout the month and recognizing students from across the school who were wonderful examples of showing respect throughout our school. We are so proud of the ways our Cougars are learning to make kindness and respect part of our school community every day!

We also kicked off our October character trait: Responsibility.

A special thank you to Mr. Kick, our county prosecutor, for joining us and sharing what responsibility means in his career, in our community, and in his own life. He shared a powerful story from when he was our students' age about facing a difficult situation, taking ownership of his choices, and doing the right thing.

Our students were incredibly connected to his message, and it was wonderful to hear them talking throughout the day about what it means to be responsible and make positive choices.

What a great way to begin October! 🍂

Respectful. Responsible. Safe. That’s the Cougar way! 🐾❤️

Letters, Sounds & Learning Through Play! 🔤🎯
Our TK and kindergarten students are building their early reading skills with a little movement and a lot of fun! Using beanbags, students are practicing letter recognition and letter sounds through an activity that keeps everyone actively involved.
For our youngest learners, repetition is so important—and adding movement helps make that practice engaging and memorable. Students get multiple opportunities to see the letter, say the letter, practice its sound, and move while they learn.
Learning to read starts with strong foundational skills, and these Cougars are working hard to build them! ❤️🐾

Learning in Motion! 🕺💃🧠
Our TK and kindergarten students know that sometimes the best way to get their brains ready to learn is to get their bodies moving!
During an active brain break, students get to dance, run, jump, and play—but there’s learning happening, too! They have to listen carefully, follow directions, respond to cues, and FREEZE when it’s time. These fun activities help our youngest learners practice self-control, attention, and listening skills while getting out some energy.
There were lots of smiles, lots of movement, and some very busy brains! ❤️🐾
