This week, I was honored to welcome county assessors from across Washington State to Skamania County for the WSACA Annual Conference at Skamania Lodge.
This successful event was made possible by our outstanding presenters and vendors, the team at Skamania Lodge, and the American Legion for their meaningful presentation of the colors to kick off the conference.
One of the highlights was introducing our 17th District State Representative, Kevin Waters. Effective local government requires strong partnerships, and I remain committed to working collaboratively across party lines to serve the people of Skamania County.
Hosting and participating in conferences like this is about more than networking—it’s about continuing education, professional development, and staying current on the laws, policies, and best practices that directly affect property owners. An effective Assessor never stops learning.
Skamania County deserves a working Assessor who is actively engaged in the profession, committed to ongoing education, and brings years of experience to the job every day. I believe leadership means showing up, building relationships, learning from colleagues across the state, and using that knowledge to better serve our taxpayers.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this conference a success and for showcasing the very best of Skamania County. I can’t tell you how many assessors, vendors, and state officials commented on the beauty of our county and the warm hospitality they experienced while visiting Backwoods Brewing, Elk Ridge Golf Course, and downtown Stevenson. It was a wonderful opportunity to highlight our community and everything that makes Skamania County special.
