Your Turn: Teachers deserve better 04/04/2021

The Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement System relies on both teachers’ contributions as well as contributions from the state. Teachers contribute with every paycheck, but each year it seems we have to fight to ensure that our pensions are fully funded. The state House of Representatives recently passed House Bill 2293, which would take $28 million from the pension system every single year. Not only would pension system lose those direct dollars but also lose out on millions more in lost investment revenue annually. This bill is wrong and completely unnecessary.

Your Turn: Teachers deserve better Throughout the past decade, Oklahoma teachers have faced multiple attacks from lawmakers.
